SatoriFado, Cante Alentejado and some “improbable concerts” will liven up the 12th edition of the MED Festival. If Fado is going to be centralized in a Fado House recreated in the Convento's Cloisters, Cante Alentejano and improbable concerts can appear around any corner of the venue.

According to the Câmara de Loulé, in relation to the Casa de Fados, «this is intended to be a tribute to Fado as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2011). More than a musical style, Fado is part of the Portuguese soul and is a fundamental element of our tradition, so its presence at MED will also be another way to promote Portuguese culture».

At the start of the Festival, on June 25, the fado singers Argentina Freire (20:00) and Filipa Sousa (22:15) will perform in this space. On the second day of the MED, it is Melissa Simplício's turn (20:00) and André Catarino (22:15 pm) to take the fado music to the Cloisters of the Convento. On Saturday, June 27, MED Fado will have the participation of Sara Paixão (20:00) and César Matoso (22:15), in a space that aims to «reproduce the typical characteristics of fado houses in Lisbon's old quarters».Andre Catarino

Cante Alentejano, also distinguished as Intangible Heritage of Humanity, will be represented by four groups dedicated to this traditional musical genre – Choral Group “Vozes da Aldeia”, Choral and Ethnographic Group “Flores do Campo”, Choral and Ethnographic Group “ Vozes de Almodôvar” and the Coral and Ethnographic Group “Mondadeiras de Santa Cruz” – who “will take their music to the streets and alleys of the MED”.

To liven up the venue, several performers will interact with visitors who, at every corner and in every corner of the Historic Area of ​​Loulé, will be surprised with Improbable Concerts. The singer Afonso Dias, accompanied by the voices of Tânia Silva and Teresa da Silva, the Al Fanfare fanfare, the Ao Luar Teatro group, the Satori Artistic Association, Edgar Guerreiro “The Saw Guy”, Eduardo Ramos, Rhakatta, Vicenteatro will be some of the protagonists of these animations.

The MED Festival runs from June 25th to 27th, with a day open to the public on Sunday, June 28th, in the Historic Area of ​​Loulé. During the three nights, there will be 50 hours of music, 42 bands, 6 stages, Fado, Cante Alentejano, improbable concerts, performers, space for the youngest (MED Kids), plastic arts, crafts and gastronomy.

Tickets can be purchased at the Cine-Teatro Louletano or through the Festival's official website www.festivalmed.pt, and until tomorrow, the 20th, it will be possible to purchase tickets in advance for
this Festival, with a reduced price (Daily Ticket – 10,00€, Festival Ticket (access to the 3 days of the Festival) – 25,00€ and Daily Family Ticket (2 adults and 2 children under 16) – 25,00 €).

In the normal sales period, from June 21st until the days of the event, daily tickets cost 12 euros, festival ticket costs 30 euros and Family Daily Ticket (2 adults and 2 children under 16) costs 25 euros.

For children up to 12 years old, entry is free.
