The Association of Friends of Cortelha, responsible for applying to the PB and carrying out the work, received half of the approximately 66 thousand euros that will be needed to complete the intervention. Later, the municipality will provide the remaining funds, as the Loulé Council will finance the entire work.

«The project responds to a need of the local population, as it will improve a space that, in addition to sports, serves as a meeting and social gathering place for the population and is the venue where some local events take place, such as the Manjares Serranos», illustrated the Loulé municipality, in a press release.

This was the proposal that received the highest number of votes, of the many presented within the scope of the OP, but it is financed as the most voted project in the Parish of Salir. Last week, a budget had already been allocated for the launch of the construction of the Quarteira Child Support Center, the winning proposal of this parish from Loulé.

"Since this is an investment project arising from the Participatory Budget 2014, after the execution of the work, the Association of Friends of Cortelha undertakes to provide and facilitate access to the intervention space with a view to its use by the population and community in general, without prejudice to a possible set of elementary rules defined by the institution in order to streamline the use of infrastructure», explained the Chamber.

In October 2014 the winning projects of the first edition of the Loulé Municipality Participatory Budget were announced. In the parish of Salir and in the overall count of the Municipality, the most voted project was the coverage of the Campo Polisportivo da Cortelha with 897 votes, followed by the creation of a children's playground with geriatric equipment, restrooms, landscaped with benches and tables on Rua José Viegas Gregório and the creation of a picnic area in the “olho” area.
