This is the case of the exhibition “Homens do Infante” and the Cycle of Lectures under the theme of this eighth edition of the Festival – “600 Years of the Conquest of Ceuta: 1415-2015”.

The 30th-century armament exhibition XIV and XV “Homens do Infante” is on display at Fort Ponta da Bandeira, until XNUMX June. The production is in charge of the Ofício Bélico Group and the Lagos City Council.

The War Office is a historical recreation group with particular interest in siege engineering, historical fencing and period combat, which has been dedicated to the construction of faithful replicas of siege weapons and other weapons characteristic of different periods and historical contexts.

In the exhibition “Men of the Infante”, thematic costumes characteristic of medieval knights and soldiers (Christians and Muslims) are on display.

During the days of the Discoveries Fair (30th April to 3rd May) the group will demonstrate the use of all the vast arsenal at their disposal and the visit to the exhibition will be free during this period. The following costumes will be exhibited in the exhibition: Arab warrior, archer, crossbowman of the tale, arcabuzeiro, albardeiro and knight.

Under the theme of this Festival – “600 Years of the Conquest of Ceuta: 1415-2015” – there will also be a Cycle of Lectures that will last until the 13th of November. On the 9th, the specific theme will be “Pre-Portuguese Ceuta” and the guest speaker will be Professor Fernando Villada.

The lectures, which will also take place on June 6th, September 19th, October 27th and November 13th, are free of charge and all take place at 15 pm, in the Salão Nobre of the Antigos Paços do Concelho (Praça Gil Eanes).
