GNR_3A Portuguese couple, aged 31 and 34, both drug addicts, was arrested by the GNR in Olhão in the early hours of Sunday, May 17, when they were trying to steal a car, near the Urbanização Pinheiros de Marim.

The GNR reports having been alerted to the "illegitimate absence" of two people interned at the Support Center for Drug Addiction, located in Marim, near Olhão, a situation that had just happened "briefly".

Soon the authorities suspected that the duo could try to steal a vehicle to flee the site, eventually locating them next to the Pinheiros de Marim urbanization.

The man, already "indicted for the practice of various criminal offenses during the current year", was searched by the GNR military, who found in his possession "an object usually used to consummate vehicle theft".

The law enforcement officials also ended up concluding that the couple is the alleged perpetrator of the attempted theft of a car parked nearby, which had indications of having been broken into and of an attempted direct connection, as verified by the legitimate owner Of car.

The detainees, residents of the city of Faro, are being present at the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Olhão to apply the coercive measures.
