GNR_1The burglar of a house in Alcantarilha Gare was caught by the GNR de Silves in the act, inside the residence, around 21 pm this Sunday, May 00th.

According to the GNR, the man, a 40-year-old Portuguese man who has now been indicted for the crime of home burglary, had entered the house by breaking down one of the windows.

The military arrested the suspect inside the house, having in his possession "several keys and pliers, used to enter the residence and carry out the theft".

The man, who even lives "a few meters from the place" he robbed, had "stowed several electrical cables and other items in iron and aluminum removed from the house", preparing to transport them from there, adds the GNR.

When he took the assailant to his house, to make the "proper identification of the suspect", law enforcement officers ended up finding four cannabis plants, which the man had planted in the backyard, which had also been seized from him.

During the early morning hours of today, in Albufeira, local GNR soldiers arrested a 22-year-old Portuguese, resident in that city, who was also indicted for the crime of theft inside his residence.

The case took place at 5:20 am, when the man, who was even "complying with the measure of coercion of periodic presentations at the GNR in Albufeira in the context of theft and qualified damage proceedings", was surprised inside the dwelling targeted by theft, when I had already removed an LCD TV, a tablet and a laptop. He was stopped by the patrol when he was transporting the stolen objects from the house.

The detainees are currently being presented to the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action.
