The EDP Foundation will support with 300 thousand euros the remodeling and refurbishment works of the Pediatric Internship at Hospital de Faro, which will cost a total of 350 thousand euros.
To formalize this support within the scope of the EDP Foundation's Pediatric Support Program, its chairman António Almeida was on the 6th of May at the EDP unit. Faro of the Hospital Center of the Algarve.
The person in charge also took the opportunity to offer a state-of-the-art ventilator for the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHAlgarve.
The works for the rehabilitation and humanization of pediatric hospitalization begin on May 20 and should be completed by the end of July.
Showing himself quite satisfied with "the positive impact that this project will have on users, families and health professionals", the president of the EDP Foundation highlighted "the joint mobilization and commitment of the Ministry of Health, which identified the needs, and the Council Administration, which co-finances part of the investment”.
Running in 2015, the Pediatric Support Program is an initiative through which the EDP Foundation intends to contribute to improving pediatric clinical intervention at national level, increasing the efficiency of medical actions and the well-being of users and their families.
