EMARP – Municipal Water and Waste Company of Portimão clarified yesterday on its Facebook page that, in the contract signed with customers (for which it placed a Link), provides information with the rights and duties of both parties, regulatory information and information on an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
EMARP's clarification came on the day that the DECO stated that there are illegalities in water supply contracts in the Algarve, from all suppliers, in particular with regard to the information given to consumers.
The Municipal Company of Portimão clarifies that «whenever a contract for the provision of environmental services is signed with EMARP (including water, sanitation and waste) a sheet with the duties and rights of both parties and various regulatory information is given to the client, from the tariff regime, readings, counters and payments to complaints».
According to EMARP, "in this document it is also mentioned that there is an alternative conflict resolution mechanism, CIMAAL, to which we adhered in November 2000".
O Sul Informação it contacted, by e-mail, yesterday afternoon, all municipalities and municipal water supply companies in the Algarve, mentioned by DECO, asking for clarification on the accusations made against it, but has not yet received any answers.
