The event is part of the competition promoted for secondary school students at the Algarve Schools, and is held in partnership with the Júlio Dantas de Lagos Secondary School.

The Congress includes lectures by researchers from the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Medicine of the University of Algarve, and recently awarded in the area of ​​Cancer: Ana Teresa Maia, Pedro Castelo-Branco and Wolfgang Link. In this event, prizes for the best research work presented will also be given.

According to the Centro de Ciência Viva de Lagos, «this initiative is intended to promote and disseminate scientific research that has been developed in the area of ​​Cancer in Portugal, stimulating and stimulating the curiosity of younger people in this regard. to health literacy'.
