This show closes the cycle +Cultura “Coração Acordeão”, promoted by the Municipality of Silves in partnership with Mito Algarvio – Association of Accordionists of the Algarve, the Casa do Povo of S. Bartolomeu de Messines and the cultural association Falajar.

The concert has as special guests the accordionists Rui Briceño and Sérgio Conceição.

On that day, the artist will also host a masterclass especially for accordion students, covering various topics related to her musical career, influences and current trends in the area of ​​accordion.

Celina da Piedade has taken her accordion and her voice to the most different contexts, somewhere between the traditional shapes and colors, on journeys through the memories of music with Portuguese roots and a more modern and universalist feeling.

He draws music full of soul and personality, which, on stage, wins with his formidable presence.

Tickets for the concert cost 5 euros.

Celina da Piedade takes Alentejo to the World

celina of mercyCelina da Piedade is an accordionist, singer and songwriter. He started studying music at the age of 5, and shortly afterwards he was already performing in public.

He studied at the Conservatory of Setúbal, where he also taught accordion. He has a degree in Cultural Heritage and a postgraduate degree in Popular Music Studies.

In 1998, he met Associação PédeXumbo, with whom he has collaborated since then and of which he is currently Honorary President.

In 2000, he joined Rodrigo Leão's Cinema Ensemble, with whom he still works, playing in all of the composer's concerts and records.

To this sharing are added others: Mayra Andrade (with whom he played and for whom he composed “Mon Carroussel”), Uxía, Ludovico Einaudi, Gaiteiros de Lisboa, António Chainho, Samuel Úria, among many others.

She has participated as an artist and composer in more than 50 record editions, in addition to soundtracks for cinema, theater and dance. He is currently part of the great collective “Tais Qual”, partnering with Vitorino, Tim, Sebastião, Serafim, Jorge Palma, Paulo Ribeiro and João Gil.

Over these years, she participated as an instrumentalist and trainer in hundreds of workshops on dance and traditional music. He is actively dedicated to the study and dissemination of the musical heritage of Alentejo, leading weekly gatherings of Cante at Casa do Alentejo, in Lisbon. She is co-author of the book “Caderno de Danças do Alentejo”, published by Associação PédeXumbo.

In his solo work, he already has two albums: “Em Casa” (Melopeia, 2012) and “O Cante das Ervas” (Melopeia and Jardim da Boa Palavra, 2014).

Due to the fact that Celina da Piedade sings the south like few others, she has been invited to take Alentejo music to the most diverse parts of the globe, including Algeria, Brazil and Spain.
