Sara's silenceThe Municipal Library of Castro Marim receives, on the 26th of May, at 21 pm, the production of ACTA (The Algarve Theater Company), “O Silêncio de Sara”.

It is a monologue, lasting approximately 40 minutes, which addresses the theme of Human Rights, Children's Rights and, more specifically, the theme of sexual abuse and maltreatment in childhood.

Actress Tânia da Silva plays the role of a young woman who, as a teenager, was plunged into a nightmare of abuse and violations.

For four years she suffered the torments of sexual exploitation and degradation until she found the strength to say "No!"

Presented for people over 14 years old, this monologue aims to sensitize young people to this theme, as well as teachers, educators, guardians and social pedagogues.

The initiative is developed within the scope of a partnership between the Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth at Risk of Castro Marim, ACTA and the Municipality of Castro Marim.
