The GNR detained two men, in separate operations, related to domestic violence, carried out in Silves and Alcoutim.
The actions were developed by the Center for Investigation and Support for Specific Victims (NIAVE) of the GNR this Monday and resulted in the seizure of weapons, in both cases.
In the first operation, the military carried out a warrant to search the house of a couple, on suspicion of domestic violence, in Vale de Fuzeiros, in the parish of São Bartolomeu de Messines.
In the action, in addition to the arrest of a 56-year-old man, a 12-caliber shotgun, fifteen rounds and the documents inherent to the weapon were seized.
Also on Monday, allegations of domestic violence led the GNR to carry out a house search of the house and two vehicles of a 65-year-old man in Alcoutim, who ended up being detained for possession of a prohibited weapon.
The man had weapons and assorted pyrotechnic equipment, namely «a 12-caliber shotgun, a 12-caliber shotgun, a .22-caliber shotgun and three magazines, a plastic pistol replica, a telescopic sight, eight hundred and seventy-two .22 ammunition, fifty-four pyrotechnic firecrackers, two smoke pots, a signal pistol, thirty-three “Very Light” type cartridges and two signal tubes with corresponding cartridges'.
Both men were present at the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action to apply any measures of coercion.
