presentationfarogrown 2020 (2)More than 800 potential candidates (public and private) for European funds participated in the cycle of information sessions of the CRESC ALGARVE 2020 roadmap, which toured the region. In addition to the session held in Lagos, on April 22, meetings were held in Vila Real de Santo António,  Faro and Albufeira.

David Santos, president of the CCDR, had already advanced to Sul Informação that the sessions were going well, with an average of 200 people each.

“We have to broaden the business economic base. We must have innovative offers, in tourism, at sea, in the sectors of the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy. We have to apply the motto of making the old new. The Algarve needs better leadership in all areas. We have to enable the region to do this. We must not continue to walk each one in their “cantoned” sector. We must foster partnerships and work together. We want to grow, we want to improve the living conditions of the Algarve», underlined David Santos, during his presentation at the fourth and last session of the PO CRESC ALGARVE 2020 regional roadmap, in Lagos.

The events took place at the time when ten competitions were published, with a total allocation of 26 million euros of ERDF, within the scope of European support of the incentive systems for companies in Portugal 2020.

Mayors, business associations, local development associations, researchers, entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, civil society representatives, deputies and regional and local leaders participated in the debates.

David Santos, Manager of CRESC ALGARVE 2020, announced that in May, thematic clarification sessions will be organized for potential candidates for European Funds available for the region in the period 2014-2020.
