The Sociedade Polis Litoral Sudoeste joins the initiatives promoted by the Directorate General of Lighthouses and the Municipality of Odemira for the Commemoration of the Centenary of FaroXNUMX of Cape Sardão, promoting an exhibition on the contract for “Restoring Natural Environmental Conditions at Cabo Sardão/Entrance of Barca”, which will be on display from tomorrow, April 15th, in the outer space of that area. farol.
The contract, which will take place between the end of April and the beginning of October, covers a six-kilometre coastal stretch between Cabo Sardão and Entrada da Barca (Zambujeira do Mar), in the municipality of Odemira.
It will be the responsibility of the company Vibeiras SA. The assignment of the contract to improve the Cabo Sardão surroundings will take place after the opening of the exhibition.
With a global investment estimated at around 1,1 million euros, co-financed by community funds and the Company's share capital, this action aims to improve the natural and landscape conditions of this emblematic place on the Alentejo Coast, also creating structures to support visitation and environmental education.
Circulation and car parking will be organized and restricted, providing for that purpose rear parking areas, located outside the most sensitive areas.
There will be a clarification of the pedestrian circulation space, with the marking of paths, creation of preferential axes and signage. The creation of areas to stay and contemplate the landscape stands out, an emblematic place on the Alentejo coast.
All actions will be complemented with interventions on the land and vegetation, aimed at requalifying the landscape of the area and pursuing ecological requalification objectives, favoring the renaturalization of currently degraded areas with autochthonous vegetation.
This project is part of a wide range of requalification and enhancement interventions that Sociedade Polis Litoral Sudoeste is developing along the 150 kilometers of coastline that make up the Alentejo Coast and Vicentina Coast.
