Street soccerThe street football “stars” will be able to show their talent in the second edition of the District Tournament of Faro the 2015 National Street Football Championship, organized by MOJU – Associação Movimento Juvenil in Olhão and the Mais Sucesso E5G Project.

The competition, which will select Algarve representatives for the national phase of the 12th edition of the Projeto Futebol de Rua, by Associação Cais, will take place on May 2, at the Pavilhão Municipal de Olhão.

The 12th edition of Street Football promoted by Associação CAIS, which has the support of “Football For Hope” and the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), «is an inclusive football initiative, which promotes the practice of sports as innovative strategy of social intervention, in the fight against social exclusion, through the acquisition of personal and social skills, essential for training and social integration. In this way, the Project also promotes the participation, self-esteem and dignity of each participant, enabling them to live an active life».

The “Football For Hope” program is an initiative of the highest body of world football, FIFA, present in more than 50 countries, which promotes the fair play and football as a means to achieve social development.

Since 2004, Associação CAIS has been the ambassador of Street Football in Portugal, a sport in which men and women over 16 years of age and who live in situations of social vulnerability participate.
