Two firefighters from the Sapadores Fire Department Faro this morning they were seriously injured when the light fire-fighting vehicle in which they were following crashed and overturned, on the EN125, in the Rio Seco area, in a place where traffic is restricted due to construction work.
According to the CDOS, the alert for the accident was received at 11:07 am, and the lightly injured people were referred to the Hospital de Faro.
O Sul Informação he found on the spot, with witnesses, that the accident only had major consequences, because the driver of the firefighter vehicle avoided a collision with a car that had been stopped on the road to give way to another firefighter vehicle that had passed in that location moments before.
In the opposite direction, from Olhão to Faro, was also following a vehicle, so the damaged vehicle had no space to avoid the collision, having collided with a wall to the right of the carriageway.
In the Rio Seco area, work is underway to access the EN 125 variant, so the area where the accident occurred has only two lanes, instead of the usual four.
When the Sul Informação left the place, the vehicle had not yet been removed and there were long lines in the direction Faro-Olhao.
