The Municipal Archive of Olhão has been temporarily closed since this Monday, April 20th, due to a change of premises. Until its reopening, in a place that the municipality has not yet disclosed, it is still possible to consult documents, and it is necessary to contact the Municipality.
According to the Municipality of Olhão, the closure and subsequent change of location, aims to provide all users and future users of the Municipal Archive of Olhão better conditions for searching and consulting the documents that make up the municipal archive, as well as ensuring most appropriate conditions for their packaging'.
The Municipal Archive of Olhão, which used to work on Rua Teófilo Braga, will reopen, according to the local authority, «in a more suitable place».
Although the Municipal Archive is closed to the public, it is still possible to consult documentation by contacting the Municipality of Olhão, through the email address [email protected] or, in person, at the Town Hall.
After the request is made and analyzed, identifying the documents to be consulted, the municipality will communicate the place, date and time at which the consultation can be made.
