A 20-year-old boy died this morning after the car he was driving collided head-on with a truck, on the EN125, in the Vale de Éguas area, Almancil.

The violent clash, which may have resulted from a runaway, as the car crossed the road and got into the opposite lane, under the front of the heavy goods vehicle of the Luís Simões company, occurred around 6:20 am Wednesday morning.

The body of the ill-fated young man was only removed with the help of an extrication vehicle, so the car was destroyed.

Due to the accident, traffic has been cut off in that area of the EN125, being diverted into the town of Almancil.

At the site, there were 18 elements, including means of the Loulé Volunteer Firefighters, the Emergency and Reanimation Medical Vehicle (VMER) of Faro, INEM, the Loulé Immediate Life Support (SIV) ambulance, the GNR, and employees of “Rotas do Algarve”, concessionaire for that section of the road.
