It was 20:30 pm on March 28 when the street lighting, in restaurants and bars on Avenida 5 de Outubro, as well as in several municipal buildings, went out, marking the passage of the Earth Hour initiative in Olhão.
Several bars and restaurants insisted on joining this initiative by the Municipality and used only balloons with lights ice provided by the Municipality to mark the date.
The idea was well received by both customers and owners of commercial establishments, with many of the opinion that this type of initiative should be repeated more often.
This was not the first time that Earth Hour passed by Olhão, having already happened last year. The event is here to stay, already being «a reference from the point of view of environmental defense», which the municipality of Olho says is one of its «great concerns».
The Municipality of Olhão thanks all the employees and individuals who collaborated so that this initiative could take place.
