Audi DTMThe Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) has been hosting from yesterday, the 2nd, and until tomorrow, the 4th of March, the three DTM brands, which will carry out tests on the Algarve circuit.

With just two months to go before the first race of 2015 in Hockenheim, Germany, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW chose the Algarve circuit to host the first round of tests of the season.

At the wheel of the test versions of the RS 5 DTM, from Audi Sport, are drivers Mattias Ekström and Mike Rockenfeller, with Nico Müller in reserve.

With two cars on the track, the drivers are prepared to test and prove the work developed by the mechanics and engineers of the aforementioned brand.

DTM“Even though the technology in DTM cars hasn't changed since last year, testing in Portimão is very important for us, given the few days of testing we have at the DTM. It serves to improve some details, to fine-tune the set-up, to do as many laps as possible and to learn. I'm looking forward to it,” said 2013 DTM champion Rockenfeller.

Teaming up with the German driver Martin Tomczyk, in Team Schnitzer, is the Portuguese António Felix da Costa, who until March 4th, will be present at the AIA for the tests carried out by BMW Motorsport.

At the wheel of the BMW M4 DTM, the brand decided this year to change the distribution of drivers and placed the Portuguese driver in Schnitzer Motorsport, the team with the greatest tradition and history working for BMW. It was also the second best team of that brand, last season.

DTM_pilotThe three days of testing at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve start off in the best possible way with ex-f1 driver Paul Di Resta, Maximilian Götz and Christian Vietoris at the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG C-Coupé.

Blancpain Sprint Series title champion Götz moved to the DTM this year after a successful four-year connection to the AMG customer program.

This year's DTM season starts in May in Germany, followed by races at Lausitzring at the end of May and at Norisring from 26th to 28th June. Also on the calendar are races in Zandvoort, Spielberg and Moscow, which have proved extremely popular in recent years. Races at Oschersleben and Nürburgring are scheduled for September and October.
