The pianist Luís Conceição will perform at the Igreja da Misericórdia in Tavira, next Saturday, February 7th, at 18:00. The concert is part of the “Música nas Igrejas” project.
Luís Conceição will present works by Mozart and also original compositions, and the Austrian composer will play the Sonata K550 together with Irene Ainstein.
Luís Conceição was born in 1974. He began his musical studies at the age of five, at the Conservatório Regional do Algarve, having completed the General Piano Course. He graduated in Musical Sciences, at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and, in Piano, at Universidade de Évora.
The musician also worked as an accompanist pianist, teacher of piano and music history in several national conservatories.
As a pianist and composer, he has performed in numerous national and international halls, solo and in chamber and orchestral formations. As a composer, he has had more than 250 works since 1993, part of them recorded on five author edition cd's. Its language is essentially fusion, showing affinities with ethnic, classical and jazz music.
He currently teaches at the Music Academy of Tavira and leads several musical projects, where he privileges the interdisciplinarity of the arts, namely, a symbiotic relationship between music, poetry and cinema. Luís Conceição is also the author of pedagogical works for children in the field of piano.
