GNRThis Wednesday, at the end of the morning, the Vilamoura GNR detained a 34-year-old man for possession of a prohibited weapon and theft inside cars. The arrest took place when the individual was using drugs, in the company of a 42-year-old woman, in a car, next to the Praia da Falésia car park in Vilamoura.

The presence of a car in a “desolate and isolated place” aroused the attention of the patrol, which was engaged in an action aimed at fighting crime. According to a statement from the GNR, "after assessing the situation, the military proceeded to approach the vehicle and control the occupying couple."

It was then that the military saw that the suspects were using drugs and that, inside the vehicle, there were prohibited weapons and "several objects whose origin the occupants could not justify".

The GNR ended up seizing three sticks, one of them extendable, an automatic opening knife and several knives and razors.

In addition to the weapons, the military also seized a hair, a cap, several pairs of gloves, a crowbar, two flashlights, two pairs of binoculars, three jerricans, an iron cutting pliers, a toolbox, a toggle. tico, a pneumatic hammer, a drill, an electric extension, a GPS, two mobile phones, several car keys, perfumes, a watch, bracelets, rings, other people's identification documents, money in different countries' currency and even a small amount of damn it.

The security force also says that "other objects that were inside the vehicle and which are supposed to be the result of illicit activity carried out" by the man were seized.

The GNR adds that "it has already been possible to relate part of the objects seized to thefts inside vehicles recently carried out in the localities of Almancil and Silves, and it is the conviction of this Command that the detainee is responsible for several of these crimes perpetrated in the region in recent days."

The woman who was with the detainee, residing in Faro and aged 42, she was constituted as a defendant in the process and has a criminal record of drug trafficking.

The detainee, who also resides in Faro, was present this Thursday to the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Loulé for the application of coercive measures.
