gala youAthletes, clubs and coaches from the municipality of Vila do Bispo were honored last Saturday, at the Barão de São Miguel Party Room, at the sport gala, organized by the City Council. For the distinctions, the results obtained in the federated competitive framework during the year 2014 were taken into account.

The initiative was attended by around 300 people, with 32 athletes being called to the stage. According to the municipality, "as in previous editions, the intention was to publicly recognize the effort and merit of the athletes who stood out for their participation in regional, national, European and world championships, in the disciplines of motocross, windsurf, triathlon and duathlon, surfing, bodyboarding, athletics, shukokai karate and kickboxing».

Trophies were awarded to athletes who classified up to 5th place in regional championships, to those who classified up to 10th place in national championships and even to those who classified up to 15th place in European and world championships.

The Algarve Surf Clube, the Sagres Bodyboard Association, the Novas Descobertas Project, the Infante Sagres Recreational Club and the Instruction Society were also distinguished for the promotion of sport in the municipality, as well as for the effort made to keep their athletes in competition. and Budens Recreation.

In this edition, coaches Sérgio Wu Brandão (surfing), Francisco Pinheiro (bodyboarding), Pedro Braz Correia (athletics), Susana Mendes (shukokai karate) and Carlos Duarte (kickboxing) were also honored.
