Praia de Rocha will host the 1st stage of the Southern Regional Surf Circuit 2015, on the weekend of January 31st and February 1st. The change of dates is due to the forecast of lack of swell in the previous weekend.
The competition is organized by Playsurf and Yacht Club Marina de Portimão, with the technical support of the Portuguese Surfing Federation.
The competition includes the qualification for the National Championship, in the official U12 categories, which (qualifies 2 athletes for the national), U14 (qualifies 4 athletes), U16 (2 athletes), U18 (7 athletes), U16 Women (4 athletes) and Under 18 Female (4 athletes).
The stage at Praia da Rocha will also include Longboard, Women's Open and Open limited to the first 16 entries, as extra categories.
This stage has the institutional support of the Portuguese Surfing Federation, Portimão Municipality and Portimão Parish Council.
The organization will also have the following support: Secret Spot, Centralskateshop, Ferox, Nosolo Itália, Myself, Fisiorider and has Swell-Algarve as a media partner.
Registration costs 20 euros and is open until January 29, having to be sent to the e-mail [email protected].
