DSC_5634 (Small)The Pavilion of the D. Afonso III Basic School 2/3 will be the target of restoration works this year. The Secretary of State for Education and School Administration, João Casanova de Almeida, will be in Paços do Concelho this afternoon to sign a collaboration agreement with the City Council Faro, since the Central Administration will finance the project valued at 150 thousand euros.

Chamber president Rogério Bacalhau advanced the Sul Informação that the intervention in the pavilion “will be at the level of the floor, which is already very used and in poor condition, and in the changing rooms”.

The space that, in addition to serving the school, is also used by clubs in the city, will be intervened, according to the mayor, during the summer.

“It's a quick process, since the survey has already been done and the tender will now be held. The works should take place during the summer, so as not to stop the pavilion during the school term,” added the mayor.

The protocol signed today contracts state support for the intervention, since “it will be the autarchy that will carry out the work, and the state will finance it”, concludes Rogério Bacalhau.

At the ceremony, in the Paços do Concelho, will be present, in addition to the mayor of Faro, the general director of the General Directorate of School Establishments, the regional delegate for Education in the Algarve and the director of the 2/3 Basic School D. Afonso III.
