The conference, organized by the Embassy of Morocco in Portugal, Office National Morocco du Tourisme, Honorary Consulate of Morocco in the Algarve and AHETA – Association of Hotels and Touristic Enterprises of the Algarve, will feature, with an opening session, António Branco, rector of the University of Algarve, Karima Benyaïch, ambassador of Morocco, and Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Chamber in Faro.

The program continues with the decoration of José Alberto Alegria, honorary consul of Morocco in the Algarve, in a distinction awarded to him by the King of Morocco, for his decades of good service in the strengthening of ties between that country in North Africa and Portugal.

Soon after, a protocol will be signed between the UAlg School of Management, Hospitality and Tourism and the International Higher Institute of Tourism of Tangier, which aims to strengthen relations between the two institutions in the areas of training and research.

After a tea break, certainly mint, there are presentations from the three main Moroccan tourist regions. The Regional Tourism Councils of Tangier-Tetouan, Doukkala-Abda (Safim and El Jadida) and Marrakesh-Tensiff-El Haouz are present, which will present the potential of their regions.

After the closing of the conference, by Elidérico Viegas, president of AHETA, a lunch of Moroccan cuisine will follow, at the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School (EHTA), for guests only.

But the program will not stop there. In the afternoon, from 16 pm, also at EHTA, there will be a Meeting between the Algarve Tour Operators and the three tourism regions of Morocco already mentioned.

According to consul José Alberto Alegria, the meeting arises «following a visit to Tangier last year, from a delegation of Algarve tour operators. Now it is the other side of the coin and the heads of Moroccan tourism regions will come to the Algarve to present their potential and deepen mutual knowledge of the tourism offer».

"There are complementarities between Morocco and the Algarve to be explored", guaranteed the consul, speaking to Sul Informação.

The entire journey dedicated to the Kingdom of Morocco culminates in a musical evening at the Municipal Museum of Faro, from 21 pm, with free entry. Moroccan musicians and the Portuguese group Al-Mouraria will be present.
