END YEAR 2015-POSTERWhen the clock strikes midnight, on December 31st, the skies will be lit from the Praia da Rocha jetty by the usual fireworks, which this year will be organized by the ATP – Associação Turismo de Portimão. It will be the way to welcome the new year of 2015.

For those who are at this festive time in Portimão, it will always be possible to complement this New Year's Eve in the city with unique experiences, such as traveling until 6 January along the Caminho dos Presépios in the 55 commercial and catering establishments participating in this initiative by Teia D'Impulsos, or enjoy the Christmas-inspired pieces that are part of the “Criar Natal” community project, created using recycled plastic bottles and demijohns, which can be seen in public spaces in Portimão, Alvor and Mexilhoeira Grande.

There are also good reasons for suggestions to discover rural life at Quinta Pedagógica, taste the local gastronomy, which irresistibly combines the best that the sea and land provide, or take a simple walk along the many beaches of Portimão.

There are also several exhibitions that are worth visiting, especially in the Museum of Portimão for the exhibitions “The Mediterranean so near”, “14th Photographic Race of Portimão” and “Portimão – Território e Identidade”, or at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes for the exhibitions “Natal”, by Associação Natal-Cortes de Brito, and “Manuel Teixeira Gomes – Back to home”.

In turn, on January 6th, Janeiras will be sung at Jardim 1º de Dezembro, from 21 pm, with the participation of Grupo Coral de Portimão, Grupo Coral Adágio, Singing Group “As Janeiras e Os Reis”, Grupo “As Figueirinhas and Friends of Figueira”, Singing Group Fonte Nova, Senior Tuna of the Alvor Community Center, Coral Group of Confraria do Medronho “Os Monchiqueiros” and Singing Group of Parchal, not missing the traditional bolo-rei, sponsored by Pingo Doce supermarkets.

This program was "drawn up using sponsorships and resources owned by the Portimão Council, and does not represent any financial cost for the municipality", stresses the council.
