The courses in Communication Design, Animated Image and Visual Arts, at the University of Algarve, will be shown from this Saturday, December 13th, at the Atrium – Centro Criativo da Baixa de Faro, the space of the former shopping center located on Rua de Santo António and closed since 2009, which reopens at 10 am.
At the exhibition, UAlg will make known the work being developed by students from those three courses.
The Atrium – Downtown Creative Center Faro is a project that aims to implement, manage and promote various initiatives linked to the creative industries (art, design, theater, music, cinema), such as exhibitions, workshops, pop-up stores, workshops, thematic markets and interdisciplinary spaces.
In this context, the Municipality of Faro established a protocol with the AND – National Association of Designers and the Tenente Palace – Cultural Association, being responsible, together with Ambifaro, for the management and dynamization of space.
The UAlg courses will make themselves known with varied activities, such as a large-format calligraphy project (caligraffiti), collective exhibitions of painting and sculpture, animation of people and objects in the streets adjacent to the Atrium space, visualization of the results obtained in a improvised screen, image editing and video editing, among others.
The National Association of Designers and the Tenente Palace are also responsible for programming the initiatives and attracting partners so that, together, this project will attract the center of Faro exhibitions and cultural events, creative projects, business initiatives, artistic performances, increasing audiences and the awareness of the city center in local and regional terms. The Atrium will also have several stores available for other activities.
These exhibitions will be open until the end of January.

Come and relive the construction of Christmas Nativity scenes that some of us used to do when we were children. Reviving a tradition that has unfortunately been lost over time. So take advantage of this workshop to learn how to save or retrieve your Clothes.
Participants: They must bring with them the item of clothing they want to transform, fabric scissors, sewing thread as well as embroidery in the color of the item or one to contrast, thimble, white or colored chalk, medium crochet hook, thread or wool in the color to match the garment, measuring tape, floor tiles of various sizes and textile dyes
