The Algarve's Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) will hold, on the next 11th and 12th of December, in Faro, a seminar on the “Environmental Recovery of Quarries”.
The seminar is open to the public and is part of the “Strategy for the Regularization of Mineral Extraction Industries in the Algarve Region” and aims to promote a broad discussion on this topic with all the actors involved. Registration in www.ccdr-alg.pt.
The first day of the works is under the theme of “Specific Actions for the Environmental Recovery of Quarries”, with the debate dedicated to the “Process of Environmental Quarry Recovery” being reserved for the 12th.
Among the guest speakers, there are designers and representatives of explorers, representatives of universities and entities of the central and local public administration, as well as public companies and associations representing the sector.
Experts from three universities (University of Algarve-Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Évora and University of Lisbon-Faculty of Science), representatives of three CCDRs (Centro, Alentejo and Algarve) will participate in the various panels that make up the four sessions of the seminar. ), as well as representatives of the Regional Directorate of Economy of the Algarve, Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests, municipal councils of Faro and Albufeira, Mining Development Company, ASSIMAGRA-Portuguese Association of Marble, Granite and Related Branch Industries and ANIET-National Association of Extractive and Manufacturing Industry.
