letters to Santa_1CTT has already started to receive letters to Santa Claus that, every year, spontaneously reach its network. All will be answered by CTT and this year it is expected that they will reach 170 thousand, all of them on paper, written or drawn by children and adults.

But this year there is once again a second Santa Claus at the Post Office: Santa Claus Solidário, which will deposit in CTT stores across the country, as well as on the Internet, letters written by disadvantaged children in custody or accompanied by IPSS, which anyone can can sponsor, offering the present request for each of them (see information below).

For the first of these Father Christmas, CTT has already mobilized a special team of 15 people who in the coming weeks will dedicate themselves full time to ensuring that all children (and others) receive an answer, helping parents to keep the dream of Your children's Christmas.

CTT will also add a small symbolic gift to the boys who behaved well (that is, everyone). “We just can't say what it is, so as not to spoil the surprise”, emphasize CTT.

Letters to Father Christmas arrive at CTT destined for locations as diverse as the “North Pole”, “Cloud of Father Christmas”, “Terra do Frio” or “Caminho das Estrelas”. These letters are the only ones that are accepted by the Post Office without a stamp, just don't forget to include the return address.

CTT sees letters to Santa Claus as being, often, the first experience of children in writing a letter, a traditional means of communication that electronic means have ended up making more personal and reserved for the really important moments.

Toys continue to dominate Christmas wishes, but they increasingly have competition from orders like books, animals, and even siblings.

letters to Santa_2Santa Claus Solidarity: Two thousand letters from disadvantaged children ready to be sponsored

But at CTT, Santa Claus has a second vocation: that of guaranteeing that around two thousand disadvantaged children, in custody or accompanied by institutions, also have the right to have their requests fulfilled.

In this sense, CTT asked 2000 children up to 12 years old from 60 charity institutions, from North to South of the country, to write their letters to Santa Claus.

These letters are published on the Internet at www.painatasolidario.pt, on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/opainatal and in a selection of 68 CTT stores in mainland Portugal and islands (list below), where anyone can patronize them, offering the child the gift requested.

Just deliver it to CTT, who will deliver it free of charge and keeping the anonymity of the children and godparents.

These children's Christmas dreams are the same as those of all children, who go to Santa Claus with many drawings and some written requests, especially for toys.

The list of institutions supported by this project, as well as the list of CTT stores that have sponsorship letters, can be found on the links and below.

We also attach examples of letters for publication. Higher definition charts are available on request.
