Portimonense has renewed contract with central defender Maurício until 2018. The 22-year-old has started in the alvinegra team this season and has been followed, according to SAD alvinegra, by several emblems.
The player is a starter since the first match of this season in the Second League, accounting for 1.522 minutes and one goal scored.
For Maurício, «the objective of staying was achieved. I'm very happy and I hope to give Portimonense many joys».
Fernando Rocha, president of SAD do Portimonense, added that «this is the new way of working at SAD, betting on reference players».
In the manager's opinion “Mauritius is a player who is being followed by several clubs, and we cannot pass up this opportunity to renew his contract. The player is an asset to the club and a common investment as well».
