The 43rd edition of Rallye Casinos do Algarve starts on Saturday, November 15th, now integrating the Portuguese Rally Cup, an unprecedented FPAK competition, which ends the 2014 season in a festive atmosphere.
Last Tuesday, the general lines of the event were presented at the Hotel Algarve Casino in Praia da Rocha.
Bringing together four dozen participants, attention is focused on the desired Rally Cup of Portugal. Starting with number 1, João Barros trusts the competitiveness of the Ford Fiesta R5 to combine the rally cup with the karting cup.
It will have the opposition of Carlos Martins, who opted for the Porsche 997 GT3, a vehicle that has been proven in asphalt tests, and also from the Algarve, Ricardo Teodósio, who participates with the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX.
For the podium places, there are also the Madeiran Gil Freitas (Porsche 997 GT3), Diogo Salvi (Ford Fiesta R5) and also João Correia, in Mitsubishi Lancer.
Paulo Neto, in the Citroen DS3, wants to join the RC3 national title with a victory in the two driving wheels, but he will have to measure forces with Marco Cid, Daniel Nunes and Wilson Aguiar.
In the South Rally Championship, balance has been dominant, and an interesting fight is expected between the Mitsubishis of Márcio Marreiros, Luís Mota and José Merceano.
Outsiders Carlos Fernandes and André Cabeças are looking for extra points for the Centro-Norte championships, and to reach the podium in the 4-Wheel Drive Cup.
In the two “regional” wheels, Jorge Rego in Saxo Kit Car starts at the front, but has strong opposition from the Citroen Saxo of Paulo Santos and Marco Ferreira, and also from the Peugeots of Marco Gonçalves and Ricardo Roda.
In a new rally, in which everyone starts on an equal footing, the organization set up a race for two days. The first with the action concentrated at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, with two passes on the section of the go-kart track and Lagos.
On Sunday, the caravan heads to Monchique, with a double pass through the new specials in Monchique and Marmelete, totaling timed kilometers. Finally, a return to the past, with a slalom on the Passeio Ribeirinho de Lagos.
On Sunday, at 15 pm, after the race, a sports exhibition will take place in the riverside area of Portimão, followed by the podium ceremony and awards ceremony at the Hotel Algarve Casino, at 30 pm.

A hundred guests attended the presentation of the 2014 edition of Casinos do Algarve that took place at the Hotel Algarve Casino.
The main characteristics of the Algarve race were presented, a promotional video was projected and the partners who are essential for the performance of the Algarve race were given the floor.
Carlos Barros, representing FPAK, praised the organization, trusting in the success of the rally. Representing the Municipality of Monchique, Hélder Rodrigues expressed his satisfaction for continuing to invest in the locality, with new specials that he considers to be even more spectacular and appealing to the sport.
Lagos councilor Paulo Reis thanked Lagos for his entry and promised support in later events.
In representation of the Portimão local authority, the vice-president Castelão Rodrigues expressed confidence in the future of the Algarve race, thanking Portimão for continuing as a nerve center.
The president of the Algarve Tourism Region Desidério Silva justified RTA's support for the event by focusing on low-season events that promote and bring greater visibility to the region.
Closing the group of stakeholders, the administrator of Casino Solverde in the Algarve, Joel Pais, recalled the 17-year partnership, thanked the visibility and feedback obtained in the last edition, valuing the collective effort of the various municipalities, leaving a word of support for the organization .
