Autoctone Forest Day_AlturaThe Municipality of Castro Marim joined the Plantar Portugal Movement “National Reforestation Week” and held this Sunday, in Altura, an action to plant 100 new trees and shrubs, which also marked the Day of the Native Forest.

The planting was done on a section of the coastal ecovia route, in the area surrounding Ribeiro do Álamo.

In a note sent to the newsrooms, the autarchy underlines “the involvement of local communities, in the mobilization of civil society, and their participation in the action. For the children involved, in particular, it was certainly a pedagogical action and a way to reinforce their links to the territory, nature and the landscape, keeping for themselves, as their own, the memory of that tree they planted».

According to the municipality, "about 20 people joined the initiative, including the active participation of Associação Rodactiva."
