A family was left homeless, this Thursday, in Portimão, after the roof of their house partially collapsed, following heavy rains that affected the western Algarve, during the early morning and morning hours. The two affected people have already been resettled by the Civil Protection from Portimo.
The District Relief Operations Center (CDOS) of Faro revealed to Sul Informação that bad weather affected, above all, the municipalities of Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Lagos and Portimão, where there were floods on the public road and the collapse of structures, mainly walls, due to landslides.
Although Aljezur was the most harassed municipality, it was in Portimão that there were more serious consequences. In addition to the inhabitants of the “one-story single-person dwelling”, who saw part of the roof fall, there was the collapse of a vacant house, as well as flooding.
In the other affected municipalities, there was no record of damage to people or damage to houses, only "one-off floods", said the CDOS Faro.
