Largo de Querença - CMLouleThe Querença Market returns on October 26th, after a break for a few months, just in time to celebrate the three years since this tradition of the mountain village, in the Municipality of Loulé, was resumed. The event takes place from 10 am to 13 pm, in the Largo da Igreja Matriz in Querença, where local vegetables can be found, as well as gastronomic and handicraft products.

In this edition of the monthly market, which always takes place on the last Sunday of the month, the focus will be on tradition, but also on physical fitness. The celebrations of the third anniversary of the initiative will have associated the “Trail Running – Percursos de Querença” event, an event that arises from the second phase of the Querença Project, in the context of which the Querença Market was restored.

The race, which starts before the market opens, challenges a path of medium/easy difficulty, with a length of 20 kilometers, «for the more adventurous to know the main routes of Querença (7 Fontes, from Serra to Barrocal and Fonte of Benemola)'.

At 10 am the workshop “Let's whitewash a fountain?” will take place. An activity to enhance Heritage, where participants will have the opportunity to have close contact with lime and one of its popular application techniques.

In terms of gastronomy, the organization of Mercado de Querença prepared a workshop with a local elder. Following the Algarve tradition, participants will prepare the fig stars (also known as “stars of the saints”) to offer and taste on All Saints' Day (1 November). The workshop will start at 10:30 am and will cost 5 euros.
