The athlete Ana Lúcia Rosária, from São Brás de Alportel, went to Mersin, in Turkey. She was one of the four representatives of Portugal in the European Championship of Petanque, which took place last weekend.
The Portuguese were in 16th position overall, among the 28 teams that were present, and guaranteed direct qualification for the 2015 World Cup.
Ana Lúcia Rosário is an athlete from Grupo Desportivo e Cultural de Machados. To reach the selection, he had to go through a selection process consisting of three phases, during the months of June, July and August, which culminated in his choice to go to the European Championship.
«The young São Brasense started this sport under the influence of her father and, since then, she has seen her passion for the sport of petanque continue to grow. Thanks to her commitment and dedication, in recent years Ana Lúcia has won several titles and medals in the championships in which she had the opportunity to participate», described the Chamber of São Brás de Alportel.
