algarve enchantsThe fourth edition of the roadshow «Algarve Encanta» takes the region's attractions on tour throughout the country, in an initiative that will bring together more than 300 travel agents and opinion leaders in three days of familiarization with the Algarve's tourism offer. The action starts tomorrow, the 28th, in Lisbon, and is later replicated in Coimbra (29) and Porto (30).

From the Algarve, 20 travel agents and hoteliers will depart, who, together with the Algarve Tourism Region, will have the opportunity to present their services and make direct sales to guests.

The objective is common to all: to facilitate contacts and increase business possibilities between the trade the region and the rest of the country.

O roadshow – which this year has already passed through Seville, Salamanca and Madrid – is intended only for professionals and consists of the realization of a workshop in each city, which will bring together the Algarve's offer in a privileged space for business, followed by a session of networking to trade, local entities and press.

Altogether, more than three hundred participants are confirmed in the three days.

«Everything points to the fact that tourist activity will have in 2014 a record year in Portugal. In the Algarve hotel industry, the results of the internal market are being very positive, with overnight stays from residents increasing by more than XNUMX% and with half a million more overnight stays than last year», reveals the president of RTA Desidério Silva .

«With this action, we want to maintain the performance of the destination in Portugal and meet the high expectations of the sector», concludes the responsible for tourism in the Algarve.

In 2013, the domestic market generated 23 percent of overnight stays at the destination, only surpassed by the United Kingdom.
