Portimão City CouncilThe Portimão Council takes, on average, 1975 days, that is, about five years and four months, to pay its suppliers, thus leading the list of municipalities with an average payment period exceeding 90 days. The data are from General Directorate of Local Authorities and refer to the end of June, that is, the end of the 2nd quarter of 2014.

On this sad podium, right after Nazaré (1627 days), another municipality in the Algarve appears: Vila Real de Santo António (1366 days).

The list of 89 bad paying municipalities, out of a universe of 306 municipalities, also includes four other Algarve Councils: Vila do Bispo, in 27th place, with 294 days, Olhão (42th place, 179 days), Albufeira (51st place, 144 days ) and still Faro, barely appearing on the list, in 88th place, with 94 days, four more than the limit.

Analyzing the DGAL data, it appears that the municipality of Portimão, which has long been at the top of this list, and unlike the other Algarve Councils listed, saw the number of days without payment rise by 920 in just three months, which means your situation keeps getting worse.

Thus, if on March 31 of this year Portimão took an average of 1055 days to pay, now that number reaches 1975 days. Worse ascent than in Portimão, only in Nazaré, which is the second lowest paying municipality in the country, which rose from 428 to 1627 days (an increase of 1199 days in just three months).
