Four needy families from São Brás de Alportel received the key to their new home yesterday, Tuesday, at a Solemn Session for the Delivery of Municipal Social Housing.
The São Brasense Chamber promoted the signing of the lease of these social housing houses, which will allow these families to have “a new house, with more dignity and comfort, in keeping with the needs of their household”.
Two of the houses awarded, following the attribution of social housing, by resolution of the Council meeting of July 1, 2014, are located in Bairro Social João Rosa Beatriz, in the City of São Brás. The other two are located in the Graças a Deus neighborhood, owned by the parish council of São Brás de Alportel.
The four beneficiary families join another six who had received homes earlier this year. «For a dozen families from São Brás, the year 2014 is synonymous with a new house», illustrated the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, in a press release.
«At the same time, the Municipal Council's Social Services are currently updating all the application processes for social housing, as well as an exhaustive survey of the living conditions of families living in municipal social housing units. Soon, the community social intervention project “Bem Me Quer” should start, based in the Espaço Multiusos do Bairro Social, which aims to more closely monitor and socially intervene with these families», added the municipality.
