parchal staplesTwo years after the fire that destroyed its store in the Retail Park of Portimão, Staples, a company that sells stationery and office supplies, opens a new store in Parchal, in the Lagoa-Portimão area, tomorrow, September 13 .

Staples invested two million euros in rebuilding the store, which will have 1.200 square meters and the EasyTech and Copy & Print Center services.

The 25 employees of the new space «transit from the previous store», having been «in the last two years in other Staples stores in the Algarve region», after the fire.

With the completion of this opening, «Staples fulfills the promise it made days after the fire, to reopen the store and guarantee the jobs of employees who, at the time, performed their duties in the Portimão Retail Park store», stresses the company in a press release.

The new Staples store opens in a space formerly occupied by the hypermarket E.Leclerc do Parchal, which some time ago went bankrupt and closed.

The fact that, in the leaflets announcing the opening, the indication that it was the new store in Portimão was included, caused some controversy, namely on social networks, as the space is located in Parchal, municipality of Lagoa, although approximately 500 meters from the old bridge and the city of Portimão. Perhaps for this reason, the company's communication began to use the indication that the store is located in «Lagoa-Portimão».
