A 63-year-old man, who admitted to being the owner of a cannabis plantation discovered by the GNR in a rural area near Praia da Ingrina, in Raposeira, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, was arrested this Tuesday for drug trafficking.
The operation of the GNR Criminal Investigation Nucleus in Portimão also made it possible to apprehend 18 adult cannabis plants, weighing about 10 kilos, 103 grams of cannabis leaf, which «were already packaged for sale».
"This is the tenth seizure of cannabis plants carried out in the area of this Territorial Command in 2014, and it should be noted that this is a region with favorable climatic conditions for the development of these plants", said the Territorial Command of Faro in a statement.
