The Algarve's ETIC School of Innovation and Creation Technologies will open classes at its new headquarters in Faro, at the Municipal Market, on the 6th of October.

With its new facilities officially inaugurated on September 7th, city day, ETIC_Algarve is receiving applications for its wide range of courses in the creative areas.

Having started to settle four years ago in Portimão, ETIC_Algarve has now decided to “centralize training and increase the training offer” in the Algarve capital, justifies Nuno Ribeiro, the director.

Present at the inauguration ceremony, Rogério Bacalhau, Mayor, congratulated himself for “increasing the municipality's training offer” and for living in a time in which we are witnessing, increasingly, the “democratization of education”.

The mayor shared his personal story of entering the labor market, to explain to the young people present the differences between the past and the present. “Doing what you like is the most important thing”, stressed the mayor, thanking ETIC_Algarve for coming to “enrich the educational project of the municipality of Faro".

Manuela Carlos, general director of ETIC and founder of the project in 1991, said she believes that ETIC_Algarve can "help create more jobs and more companies", since, after graduation, students are encouraged by the school to create their own post access to resources and equipment in the start-up phase.

“Helping students to make their dreams come true” is, for Manuela Carlos, ETIC's greatest mission. The general director, a former actress, also shared with the audience the day she decided to take a new direction in her life, abandoning acting to found ETIC.

The inauguration was also attended by the Secretary of State for Education and the Consul of Brazil in Faro (for marking Brazil's independence day on the same date).
The “Mundo Pardo”, band from the city of Faro, gave the sound to the party, which culminated with the presentation of the book “Crónica da Selva”, by journalist and writer Tiago Salazar.

Until October, on premises, or in www.eticalgarve.com, registration for the new school year is now open. There are six training areas (Communication, Design, Sound, Video, Web and Photography), within which there is a wide range of specific technical courses lasting from 1 to 2 years.
