Commercial Port of FaroDredging in the maneuvering basin and in the access channel to the Commercial Port of Faro are two of the works foreseen in a technical and financial cooperation protocol for the development of the Port of Faro, signed on 14 August between the Administration of the Ports of Sines and the Algarve (APS) and Sociedade Polis Ria Formosa. In all, 3,2 million euros will be invested in various interventions.

The main objectives of the signed protocol are “to improve the bars, channels, banks and water plans of the public maritime domain, as well as to requalify the riverside space in the area of ​​jurisdiction of the APS”.

"According to the signed document, the interventions foreseen in the Plan for the Hydrodynamic Valorization of the Ria Formosa and Risk Mitigation will be carried out, namely with regard to dredging of the channel of Faro and maneuvering basin of the Commercial Port of Faro and reinforcements of the dune cordon of Praia do Farol,” added the APS, in a press release.
