judiciary PoliceThe Judiciary Police arrested the man who presumably stabbed to death a security guard at a bar in Albufeira on 20 August and seriously injured another man, who came to the defense of the mortal victim.

The presumed murderer, 27, was admitted to hospital until the time of arrest, with a fractured jaw, following aggressions he suffered in the same brawl.

The crime of which the detainee is now suspected was committed following an argument on the terrace of a bar on Avenida Sá Carneiro, in Oura. At the time, Correio da Manhã reported that «the security of the establishment intervened in a disagreement between the waiter and a group of clients, of Portuguese nationality and residing in the Greater Lisbon area».

As revealed by the Southern Directorate of the PJ, in a statement, the presumed murderer "armed with a sharp object, pierced the chest of a 40-year-old man, causing his death." "At the time, a third individual, 24 years old, intervened in defense of the victim, having also been wounded in the abdomen by the detainee," he added.

The detainee will be present at the judicial authorities to find out what coercive measure will be applied to him.
