Information about Rota do Petisco 2014 is now available online on the website www.rotadopetisco.com, allowing snackers to know everything about this year's edition, from the areas and participating establishments to the menus and other additional routes, as well as the programmed entertainment proposals, among many other points of interest, in an important work conceived by the IT company iTBase .
Rota do Petisco is a cultural and recreational project promoted by Teia D'Impulsos – Social, Cultural and Sports Association, which aims to promote restoration and traditional cuisine, contributing to the enrichment of the region's tourism offer, in which the Participants are invited to tour the participating establishments, guided by a Passport in which all stops and the respective special menu, prepared for the event, are identified.
The 124 stops of this true gastronomic marathon correspond to participating establishments, which offer participants on their menu either the “Snack” modality, consisting of a small plate and a drink at a unit price of €2,50 in 105 restaurants and similar establishments, or the “Regional Sweet” modality, consisting of a dessert and a drink, with a unit price of €2, in 19 pastries, keeping unchanged the price list practiced since the first edition, in order to make the Petisco Route accessible to the greater number of participants.
In addition to the center of Portimão (blue, green and yellow zones with 54 establishments), Praia da Rocha (orange zone with 19 establishments), Alvor (brown zone with 23 establishments) and Ferragudo (pink zone with 12 establishments), in 2014 Rota do Petisco also reaches Mexilhoeira Grande (purple area, with four establishments) and Silves (red area, with 12 establishments), the city invited to this fourth edition.
New routes, more challenges
In terms of novelties, the Rota dos Pequeninos debuts in this edition, with around three dozen establishments joining this new modality, which consists of an alternative menu specially designed for children and at the same price as the menu. main route of the Petisco Route, duly identified in the Route Passport.
Another novelty will be the Rota das Groceries, which aims to publicize the offer of six small local commerce establishments in the center of Portimão (green and yellow zones) and will allow Rota Passport holders to enjoy offers and/or discounts in the purchase of products from the six participating grocers: for each one visited, a stamp will be placed in the Passport and whoever manages to collect all the stamps is eligible to win a basket specially made up of products from each of the participating establishments.
Also in the firsts aspect, and so that the appetizer lasts until later, there will be the Adentro Night Route, in which participants are invited to enter the
12 participating bars, located in the center of Portimão (blue area) and Praia da Rocha (orange area), enjoying offers and/or advantages in consumption, upon presentation of the Route Passport, where the stamp of each establishment will be placed visited.
The Traditional Trade Route, which aims to promote and promote local commerce, will present in this year's edition a different format and has a partnership with Go Portimão, involving 23 commercial establishments in the center of Portimão, which launch the challenge to snackers to participate in a peddy-paper that runs throughout the period of operation of the Rota do Petisco.
The challenge is to identify 23 photographs of objects displayed on the Route's Passport with the logos of the corresponding commercial establishments, followed by a visit to the respective establishments and the search, inside, for the object presented, with a stamp being placed in the Passport whenever it is found.
After the first stamp, participants receive a discount voucher at more than 80 commercial establishments that make up the Go Portimão partner network and whoever manages to collect the 23 stamps should go to Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes and fill in a form to qualify to the grand final prize: a weekend at a hotel in Seville for two people and two tickets (adults) to Isla Mágica.
As usual, entertainment will be a constant during this period, with emphasis on music, the Super Bock Illustration Route, the Super Bock Image Route, the Talk Route and two nightly cultural tours, the first of which is scheduled for 5th of September, the beginning of this year's edition of Rota do Petisco.
How to obtain the Route Passport
To experience this marathon of delicacies and fun proposals, all that is required is for anyone to obtain the respective passport, with all the necessary information and available from September 5th, either in the 124 participating establishments or in the Museum of Portimão, Tourism Offices of Portimão, Praia da Rocha, Alvor and Silves, Manuel Teixeira Gomes House and Ferragudo Post Office.
Since in 2014 the Route is once again solidary, the acquisition of the respective Passport is made through the delivery of a donation in the amount of €1.00, deposited in the “Route Piggy Banks”, in a solidarity gesture whose funds will be allocated to to the Association of Blood Donors of the Barlavento Algarvio, Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Portimão, Portuguese Association for Developmental Disorders and Autism in the Algarve, Casa de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Social Refectory of the Social Center of Nossa Senhora do Amparo and Projeto Vela Solidarity.
Synergies at the base of success
