Scout_Photo CNE Nuno PerestreloScouts from groups from across the region will gather at Vale das Almas, next to the airport of Faro, in a new Regional Camp (Acareg) of the Algarve Region of the National Body of Scouts (CNE), which runs from 2 to 7 September. At the moment, more than 1200 young people are already enrolled.

This is the largest event organized by the CNE in the region and does not take place every year. The last of its kind was in 2007, in the National Forest of Barão de São João, in Lagos.

The 12th Acareg do Algarve has as its imagery "Live a Life" a poem by Mother Teresa of Calcutta and as its theme "A journey, a mission". The activities to be developed are inspired by the life of Mother Teresa and the habits and customs of India. Thus, young people and adults who will be spread over five camps: Goa, Daman, Diu, Bombay and New Delhi.

“In the field, young people will have to carry out a series of tasks, prepared and planned by themselves. They will build their accommodation for those days, they will cook, clean and maintain the facilities, participate in numerous activities proposed by the regional pedagogical departments, which include hiking, games, workshops, services, all with a view to boosting their growth in all aspects of their individual development: physical, affective, character, spiritual, intellectual and social», described the Regional Board of the CNE, in a Press Release.
