The “2nd Doctoral Retreat in Digital Media-Art” takes place between 12 and 18 July, at the Islamic and Mediterranean Culture House, in Silves, organized by the University of Algarve and Universidade Aberta, in collaboration with the Municipality of Silves.
With the theme “Digital Poetics in Al-Mut'amid – Innovation, Poetry, Inclusion”, this retreat is the highlight of the course, where students, teachers, guests and the general public can enjoy a common space for sharing ideas, analysis of results and future challenges.
The Doctoral Retreat is the in-person teaching period of the 1st curricular year of the course and aims to share a working space between students and teachers, in close coexistence.
During the retreat, various activities will take place, such as forums, seminars, gatherings, workshops, musical and poetry moments, carrying out actions of artistic intervention and performance, exhibition of digital media-art artifacts, presentation, discussion and evaluation of thesis plans, among other actions programmed to fully enjoy the city of Silves and involve the history of the city and its great poet Al Mut'amid, in the artistic and academic production that will be carried out at the retreat.
The retreat will culminate with the closing days, whose solemn opening session will take place on July 18, at 9:00 am, at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório.
