Minister Poiares MaduroSuccessful projects, based in low-density areas of the Algarve, will be the central element of a itinerary that the deputy minister for Regional Development Miguel Poiares Maduro is going to make in several Algarve councils, today, Friday and tomorrow, Saturday. The visit will also serve to sign protocols relating to the new Citizen's Spaces.

Today, the member of the Government will focus his attention on Sotavento, to get to know up close business projects and associations, which have in common the fact that they are "differentiators".

The visit begins in the morning in Alcoutim, with stops at the Solar Enercoutim Demonstration Platform and at the Dandle&Vasquez company. A little further down, in Vila Real de santo António, the company Nautiber – Estaleiros Navais do Guadiana will be visited. In Castro Marim, the initiatives in focus are the Revelim de Santo António project and the Cooperativa Terras de Sal.

In the afternoon, Poiares Maduro resumes the tour in Tavira, where he will attend a presentation of the Mediterranean Diet at the Municipal Museum, heading to São Brás de Alportel, to visit the Nova Cortiça factory. The first day ends with a visit to the Continued Care Unit of Estoi, in Faro and visit to the TASA – Técnicas Ancestralis Soluções Atual project in Loulé.

Tomorrow, the minister heads to Barlavento and starts the day in Monchique, where he will sign protocols on the installation of Citizen's Spaces in the Algarve. In the same municipality, he will visit the Mel and Medronho stores and the Evangelista Oliveira Traditional Sausage Factory.

After a visit to the Fortress of Sagres, in Vila do Bispo, the minister will head to Aljezur, where he will attend presentations by the Polis Litoral Sudoeste, the Puro Algarve project (In Loco) and the Bienal de Turismo Natureza (Vicentina).

«The objective of this visit is to know and highlight the territories and “good practices” in the field of public and business initiatives in the Algarve interior, which are based on the enhancement of its endogenous resources, the identity of its populations, and its wealth assets», illustrated the CCDRA, in a press release.
