Two men were arrested this Monday for drug trafficking, in an operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Nucleus of the GNR of Portimão, on the site of Marmelete, in the municipality of Monchique.
The military had a surveillance action mounted on a cannabis plantation and ended up detaining its owners, who admitted to being responsible for the plantation.
During the operation, «11 adult cannabis plants (about 2 meters high) were seized, with a total weight of approximately 15 kilograms. were in the process of drying", revealed the Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR.
"This is the eighth seizure of cannabis plants carried out in the area of this Territorial Command in 2014, and it should be noted that this is an area that has favorable weather conditions for the development of these plants, which is the visible result of the operational commitment implemented in the fight against this type of crime,” added that police force.
