From tomorrow until Sunday, there will be the Volta a Portugal do Futuro, an international under-23 competition. From Friday to Sunday, sharing part of the routes with the Volta do Futuro, the Cadets' Tour of Portugal is played.

The 22nd Volta a Portugal do Futuro will have four stages and a total of 585,7 kilometers. The kick-off will be fired tomorrow, on a 146,7 km link between Águeda and Oliveira do Hospital. The second run will take the platoon from Santa Maria da Feira to Arouca, through an itinerary of 133,1 kilometers.

The queen stage is scheduled for Saturday. It is a journey of 148,4 kilometers, starting in Castelo de Paiva and ending in the hard climb of the Larouco mountain range, Montalegre. Maia, European City of Sport in 2014, will host the Volta do Futuro squad in apotheosis, on Sunday, after covering 157,5 kilometers from Montalegre.

In addition to the Portuguese club teams (namely the Algarve teams of Tavira and Louletano Cycling Club) and six foreign teams, the Volta a Portugal do Futuro squad has a National Team/Liberty Seguros, made up of under-23 runners of the continental teams, to whom the Portuguese Cycling Federation decided to give an opportunity to participate in the main national under-23 event, as the respective teams will not be able to participate in the competition.

In parallel with the Volta a Portugal do Futuro, the 7th Cadets' Volta a Portugal will run from Friday to Sunday. The first stage starts and finishes in Arouca, over 75,9 kilometers.

The second run is the most difficult of the competition, taking the runners along a 63,8 km route, from Cabeceiras de Basto to Montalegre, with the goal set in the Larouco mountains. The final journey starts in Póvoa de Lanhoso and ends in Maia, after 79,5 kilometers covered. 150 runners are registered.

In the 7th Tour of Portugal of Liberty Seguros Cadets, Angolan cyclist Bruno Araújo joins the CC Tavira group made up of runners Thomas Constantino, Diogo Simão, João Batista, José Miguel Afonso, Rodrigo Jesus, Bruno Faleiro, Rafael Piedade, and Gonçalo Alphonsus.
