science_liveThe Centro Ciência Viva de Lagos has 75 free Science promotion activities scheduled for the summer months, from 15th July to 15th September.

As part of the Ciência Viva no Verão Program, the taste for Science and Nature will be boosted in 75 outdoor actions, to, among others, discover fossil reefs, explore vineyards, peek into the seabed, find birds, bats or nocturnal butterflies , with dinosaur footprints mixed in and peeking at the stars in the sky.

From Sagres to Albufeira, passing through the Serra de Monchique, you can tour the Algarve with Ciência departing from the Ciência Viva Center in Lagos and the Ciência Viva in the summer.

Ciência Viva de Lagos organizes these free visits, for example, to get to know:

– the Birds in the Ria de Alvor (9th August and 13th September), Cabo de São Vicente (7th August), Lagoa dos Salgados (5th August), Paúl de Budens (7th August);

– the bottom of the sea, through dives at Dona Ana beach (18th July and 12th August) and at Arrifes beach (5th and 19th August);

– the geology of the Serra de Monchique (17th July and 12th September);

– Odelouca Dam (18 July);

– dinosaur footprints from Salema beach (29th July and 26th August) and Praia Santa (9th September);

– Astronomy through observation of the sky of Lagos (19th and 26th of July, 9th and 24th of August and 6th of September)

– some Algarve caves (July 19th, August 3rd and 30th and September 6th)

– the fossil reef at Mareta beach (6 September);

– the bats that live in Lagos (10 and 23 August);

- and much more!
